Compass endorses Flood Technology Group’s ground-breaking products

Compass Insurance is excited to announce our endorsement of Flood Technology Group.

As a specialist holiday park insurer, Compass Insurance is happy to consider providing full flood insurance cover to customers who fit Flood Technology Group’s ground-breaking Flood Adaptive Platforms to their caravan, lodge or holiday home. This collaboration highlights the significant potential of the Flood Adaptive Platform in helping owners of holiday homes, lodges, and caravans safeguard their investments against the increasing flood risks posed by climate change in the UK.

Karen Stacey, Managing Director of Compass Insurance, stated: “We are proud to support Flood Technology Group customers. This development is one of the most exciting advancements in flood protection over the past decade, and we are happy to consider full flood cover for caravans, lodges, and park homes equipped with a Flood Adaptive Platform manufactured, installed, and maintained by Flood Technology Group.”

Simon Gilliland, Chief Executive of Flood Technology Group, added: “The Flood Adaptive Platform offers a unique solution to protect caravans, lodges, and park homes, even in flood-prone areas. This partnership with Compass Insurance is a game-changer, enabling holiday caravan and park home owners to future-proof their properties and businesses. It also opens up opportunities for developing holiday parks in high flood-risk areas, such as near rivers or along the coast.”

The Flood Adaptive Platform, developed over twelve years, is a groundbreaking mechanical jack system designed to detect and respond to flood conditions by automatically elevating above rising water. It has been successfully applied to mobile homes and modular buildings and can protect various infrastructures across multiple sectors, including utilities, energy, commercial, and transportation.

Both new build and retrofit versions of the Flood Adaptive Platform are available to suit all types of mobile homes, caravans, and holiday lodges. With approximately 365,000 caravan holiday homes and an additional 100,000 residential park homes in the UK, around 73,000 holiday caravans and 10,000 park homes are at moderate or significant risk of flooding. Additionally, about 20,000 caravan pitches in the UK remain unused due to flood risk, according to the National Caravan Council.

Flood Technology Group is headquartered in Great Heck, near Selby in North Yorkshire. For more information about their products, visit: https://floodtechnologygroup.com/.
